Directions
1. Over medium heat, place a large pot and add ground sausage and beef in it. Use either a spoon or a fork to break the meat into smaller pieces. Now, add in the chopped onion and minced garlic into the pan and cook until the meat turns completely brown.
2. Stir the constituents constantly and now integrate sugar, ½ teaspoon salt, fresh basil, fennel, pepper, oregano, and ¼ cup chopped parsley. The following step is to pour in crushed tomato, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and broth. Bring this amalgamation of ingredients to a simmer for about 1 to 4 hours after reducing the heat to low, and stir it well.
3. In the meantime, boil the lasagna according to the directions written on the package. After boiling the lasagna noodles, drain and discard the water.

ASSEMBLING AND BAKING OF CHEESE LASAGNA:
1. At the base of the prepared pan, spread about 1 cup of the meat sauce. Now, place four noodles on top of the sauce. Spread the ⅓ cup of the cheddar cheese mixture. Now, place ¼ of the mozzarella cheese slices on top. Again, pour 1 ½ cups of meat sauce, and then sprinkle ¼ cup of parmesan cheese.
2. Replicate the steps and create these layers two more times. In the end, you will have three layers in total.
3. The final step is to place a last layer of pasta and pour another one cup of meat sauce on top. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, and cover the deep pan loosely by using aluminum foil.
4. For 25 minutes, bake the cheese lasagna. Afterward, remove the foil and bake additionally for 25 minutes to brown the cheese. Serve hot.
