Directions

1. Commence your work by heating olive oil or any other vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet of about 12-inches over medium heat.

2. Next, add in the diced chicken. For three to four minutes, let it cook and then turn the diced chicken over and cook for a further three minutes.

3. As the chicken is cooking, in the meantime, take a small or mixing bowl (you can also use a liquid measuring cup). Whisk together the following ingredients, i.e., soy sauce, honey, water, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger.

4. After the amalgamation of ingredients that are mentioned earlier, pour this delicious sauce into the non-stick skillet. Cook this sauce with the chicken. For 30 to 60 seconds, cook the sauce or until its consistency becomes thick.

5. Garnish the teriyaki grilled chicken with sesame seeds and green onions if you wish.

TIPS TO MAKE PERFECT TERIYAKI GARLIC CHICKEN:

1. Brown sugar can be replaced, and you can use honey. The quantity will remain the same.

2. If you don’t have rice vinegar in your pantry, that is okay; you can use apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.

3. To add some heat, you can add chili flakes or powder according to your taste.

4. Teriyaki garlic chicken is also served with steamed broccoli. If you wish, you can steam the broccoli and later serve it with the chicken and rice.

5. You can also utilize chicken thighs instead of diced chicken.

6. You can omit the sesame oil. Without this oil, the recipe still tastes delicious.

7. The salt in this recipe can be adjusted to suit your preference.
