2. All-purpose flour - ¾ cup plus two tablespoons
3. Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
4. Powdered sugar - ¾ cup plus two tablespoons
5. Eggs - 4
6. Whole milk - 4 tablespoons
7. Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
8. Cocoa powder - 2 tablespoons

INGREDIENTS FOR MILK CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1. Unsalted butter - 1 ¼ cups (at room temperature)
2. Powdered sugar - 3 ½ cups
3. Cocoa powder - ¾ cups
4. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
5. Whole milk or heavy cream - ¼ cup

Directions

1. The first step to make a marble cake is to preheat the oven at 190 degrees celsius. Make sure to grease the pan with butter lightly.

2. Now to prepare the vanilla batter, mix all-purpose flour and baking powder in a bowl. Set this bowl aside.

3. By using a beater, mix butter, and powdered sugar until well combined. After beating the two ingredients together, add in the first egg and beat well. At each addition of the egg, beat the wet ingredients well until creamy.

4. Afterward, put the electronic beater aside and add in vanilla essence and dry ingredients into the mixture and fold in.

5. The last step to make the vanilla batter is to add milk and mix well.

6. Now divide the batter into two equal portions. In one part of the batter, stir in the cocoa powder and mix well. Transfer the other half of the mixture into a greased baking pan and distribute it evenly. After this, pour the chocolate batter in the middle of the baking pan and swirl these two batters with a butter knife. Avoid overmixing the batter.

7. Bake this marble cake for about 40 minutes until it is golden brown and cooked. Insert a knife or a cake tester in the middle of the cake to check its doneness.

8. Once the marble cake is made, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes.

TO MAKE THE FROSTING:

1. To make chocolate frosting, in a large bowl, beat butter on high speed until smooth and creamy.

2. Now add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and cream or milk. After adding all the ingredients, beat on high speed for 3 minutes.

3. If the frosting is too thin, then add 1-2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

4. If there is a reverse condition, i.e., the frosting is too thick, then add 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream.

FROST THE CAKE AND SERVE:

1. Evenly spread the chocolate frosting on top and sides of the cake.

2. Slice and serve the marble cake immediately.
