Directions
1. The first and most crucial step to make homemade tater tots is to boil the potatoes. To boil the potatoes, take a large saucepan and place potatoes in it. Fill the pot containing potatoes with cold water by 1 inch. Cook these potatoes until parboiled. The whole procedure will take 6 to 7 minutes, then drain. Let it cool.
2. After the potatoes are cooled, use the grater to grate the potatoes finely. By using a cheesecloth, drain the potatoes completely and make sure to remove as much water as possible.
3. The succeeding step is to transfer all the drained potatoes in a large bowl. Now add all the flavorings, i.e., flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, dill, salt, and black pepper. Mix each ingredient thoroughly. You should obtain a workable but dry mixture.
4. The following step is to make tots from this potato mixture. By tots, I mean to shape this potato mixture into potato nuggets.
5. Its time to fry these tater tots. To cook them, heat a cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is heated up, add tater tots five to six at a time and wait for it tater tot to turn into golden color. Frying of tater tots will take 3 to 4 minutes.
6. Transfer the fried tater tots onto a paper towel-lined plate.
7. Serve these warm, delicious tater tots immediately. Sprinkle fresh parsley to garnish the tater tots, and garnishing with parsley is totally up to your choice.
RECIPE NOTES:
