Ingredients

CHOCOLATE CAKE:

1. All-purpose flour - 1 ½ cups
2. White granulated sugar - 1 ½ cups
3. Unsweetened cocoa powder - ½ cup
4. Baking powder - 1 ½ teaspoon
5. Salt - ½ teaspoon
6. Vegetable oil - â…“ cup
7. Egg - 1 large
8. Vanilla extract - 1 tablespoon
9. Milk - ¾ cup
10. Boiling water - ¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder

CHOCOLATE GANACHE:

1. Heavy cream - 1 cup
2. Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips - 1 cup

Directions

FOR CHOCOLATE CAKE

1. Begin your work by preheating the oven at 175 degrees celsius. Then, take a round 8-inch cake pan and grease it lightly with oil spray.

2. Now, take a large bowl and integrate all the dry ingredients, i.e., all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly to combine them well.

3. Next, in the dry ingredients bowl, combine all the liquid constituents, i.e., vanilla, egg, oil, and milk. Then, pour in the boiling water mixed with coffee and amalgamate until the mixture becomes glossy.

4. Afterward, pour this chocolate cake batter into the prepared round pan. It’s time to bake the delicious fudgy cake! For 30 to 45 minutes, bake the cake or until you obtain a semi-clean toothpick (due to its fudgy texture) when you insert it in the center of the cake.

5. Remove the cake pan and let the cake cool for twenty minutes. Upon cooling, transfer the cake on the flat surface or a flat plate.

FOR GANACHE:

1. The first step is to pour the heavy cream into a small saucepan. Heat cream on a very low heat for a few minutes. The cream should not boil or simmer. Once it is heated, take the saucepan off from the heat.

2. Next, add in the chocolate chips and cover the saucepan with a lid. For five minutes, let the pan sit, and this will allow melting the chocolate chips.

3. Uncover and with the help of a spatula mix the cream and chocolate together. The ganache must be creamy, glossy, and smooth.

4. Store the ganache in the refrigerator for an hour, and its consistency should be thick as Nutella.

5. Spread the ganache evenly on the chocolate fudge cake.

6. Slice this luscious chocolate fudge cake and serve.

RECIPE NOTES:

1. Do not use eating chocolate as it does not melt properly.

2. To make the cake fudgier, use 1 ¼ teaspoon of baking powder. To make it fluffy and airy, use two teaspoons of baking powder.
